Fountain of Light

Working with the amazing team at Universal Everything, Misha Shyukin worked on the creation and development of several bespoke digital characters for the Fountain of Light festival 2022 in Gwangju, South Korea. The festival aimed to celebrate and commemorate the May 18 Gwangju Democratization Movement, a significant event in South Korea's history. The characters were designed to reflect culturally relevant themes and objects.

To bring the characters to life, inspiration was drawn from various sources, including local plant and rock formations, as well as regional fabric patterns and materials. The team made sure that each character was unique and incorporated distinct design elements that would resonate with festival-goers.
